I miss the TrekBBS chatroom!

A few years ago a bunch of used to hang around TrekIRC on irc.sorcery.net, but eventually it fell by the wayside-- much like the "official" one before it.

Is there a TrekBBS chat (unofficial of course) anywhere at the moment? If not, it'd be great if we could start one up again. Would be cool to start meeting people again and talking random nothingless now and then!

You know, when I first heard about Skype, I didn't really know what it was. I had a vague idea that it was some kind of an on-line communication tool. I first heard about it in a gay chatroom. Apparently, a lot of gay guys use it for cybersex and circle jerks.

I have a webcam but don't really care for video chats.

I could set this madness up again . It was running pretty strong until EMH had to cut back his time for real life-- and we realized he was the glue holding the project together.

I like Sorcery.net and #trekirc --- which is still regged up. However, I'm running the opposite side of the world Japan/Aussie schedule and work most mornings.

As for Skype meetups, I usually reserve that for parents and girlfriend

Well how about Meebo chatrooms? No video, of course, but we could then set up massive text chatrooms, it would be on the web browser, and most IM services are compatible with it [except for Skype]. I'd be glad to set it up.

Meebo is quite evil anyhow...

perhaps paltalk? It has options for text/talk and video if you want it, It does not limit you to ONLY what the room is, I would think it would give each person a level of comfort to share only what they wish?

If you want an online chatroom, why not set something up in Second Life. You can even come in uniform if you like,
