News I may be a transgender woman

indycar

Over the past two weeks, I have had increased thoughts about feeling more in-line with femininity. As a result, I purchased some women's clothing and jewelry.

Earlier this week, I put on some of those objects, in private. I admit, it was something that I liked and made me feel comfortable.

This has further made me think that, in fact, I am a transgender woman. I have talked with some friends of mine and, thankfully, most of them have been supportive.

I took images of me in the outfit, but I do not know if it would be appropriate for me to post them here (to be clear, they are not risqué). If it is alright, I may post them.

Now, I want to be certain about my identity, so I want to take my time on this. If this ever gets to the point where I get gender reassignment surgery, I will only do it after careful consideration.

I've got no meaningful contribution other than I hope it all works out well for you! :techman:

Not to disparatch this fine subforum, it is quite nice here. However, I don't know how many transgender users frequent it these days, and those might be helpful for you in your current situation.

I recommend joining The Neutral Zone's Sexuality & Gender thread, several transgender users (and quite a few allies, too) there to help with questions you might have. Even one of the mods there is a transwoman.

That would interest me. I just saw it.

Whatever you discover about yourself and who you are, you will have support here. :)

I have zero insights or experience to share, so won't even try to advise you outside of referring you to the TNG thread where you will get first hand support and advice.

I would, however, suggest that as this seems to be a relatively recent realisation about yourself, allow yourself as much time as you need for self understanding and acceptance.

I would seek out a qualified therapist to help guide you on this new journey. There are many layers to one's sexuality and sexual identity. They can help you find the path that is right for you.

I agree, this is not something I plan on rushing.

That and support communities could be helpful.

I get the feeling that, fortunately, this is a place where one can find supportive messages about this and many other subjects, rather than the other way around.
