"I like the new movie better..."

Heck, I'm a die-hard life-long Trekkie, and I like the new movie better .

(and I enjoy all the others, even TMP, STV and Nemesis )

Me too.

It was so much fun, and it felt so great going to the cinema to watch Star Trek and having trouble finding a seat because the place was packed. Maybe that's one of the reasons I like it so much.

The whole thing was an event. I like to compare it to the World Cup: every time my team loses, I cry bitter tears, but a few weeks later it all seems shrouded in a haze of gold, and every single memory is precious and warm and fuzzy.

Seriously though, I really liked ST XI and I never liked TWoK all that much (due to my opinion of Khan, mostly).

Is nuTrek smart? Probably not, but I don't care. It's fun... more fun than many of the other films before it were imo.

Same here. This was literally the biggest Trek event I've ever had the pleasure in taking part in. We laughed, we cried, we all had the goosebumps when Nimoy showed up on screen, we all applauded at the end at near-capacity Imax theater with everyone from all walks of life, Trekkie or not. This is how it SHOULD be.

Onward to Trek XII!

They always gave grace in movies and that is reason to take them better. i liked these movies.

O Yes! The trek first film I watched in the cinema was 6. It was wonderful and I wept like a baby. But nuTrek was a bloody event! People laughing about Scotty, cheering when the Nerada is destroyed....way cool. And so manny kiddos!

Too bad they were cheering for something that wasn't TGBOTG original idea of Star Trek....;)

:lol:Gene would never have approved of scenes featuring sexy, under-dressed ladies. Or running around. Or a bar fight. Or Spock showing emotion.

Those things never happened in old Star Trek.

Never ever.

Lol - yeah and it's comforting to know that 21st century movie-makers are able to uphold sixties era attitudes to women in a franchise set in a future where the sexes are equal... :wtf:

I'm forced to agree, completely.
