I killed a bird on my birthday D=

I was driving down my subdivision's main road when 2 birds swooped down right into my car's grill and I heard a thunk. I looked in the back window and there was one bird flopping on the road. I went back and he was dead

Now i am sad

I had a full grown pheasant land in front of my car on the interstate once. I was doing about 80. Same result.

Several times my brother has been driving down the road and a bird would just fly right into his windshield. I've actually seen it happen. He has yet to actually kill any, though.

But, things could be worse...

When I was stationed in the UK (1985)..I was driving to the base doing 45MPH when a pheasant flew right into my bumper,rolled up on the hood and got caught up in my wipers (which were operating at the time)..the bird probably was killed instantly, but I still felt a bit sorry for the accident...I put the body on the side of the road and continued on my way as I couldn't be late for morning roll call... As I drove away, a Brit behind me grabbed the bird and threw it into his trunk..(probably was going to cook it I guess)...

I once drove over a rabbit. It literally just froze in the middle of the road. There was traffic coming the other way so I couldn't swerve. I looked in the rear view after and the thing just scampered off to the side of the road ~ it had just ducked!

If it's a clean kill, and only really if it's a pheasant.

But then, I've only seen that once, with my father doing it. I don't think I'd do it normally.

I've never hit a bird. However, my boyfriend has killed 4 or 5 of them... I am beginning to believe he does it on purpose...

We have also hit a fox once, but luckily it was not harmed.

The only things I have killed with my car have been flys ~ and you need an awful lot of them to make a decent curry

Been there, done that. The pigeon was right there on the road as I came round a corner. I took my foot off the throttle slightly and flashed my lights but the fucker still refused to take off until it was too late, and it wasn't safe to stop the car, so boom; clearly a case of a pigeon that thought it could play chicken!

Feathers everywhere. I actually pulled the car over some minutes later when it was safe to do so, as I started to worry they might be blocking the air intake.

As I drove away, a Brit behind me grabbed the bird and threw it into his trunk..(probably was going to cook it I guess)...

Waste not, want not. The key is only eating really fresh roadkill. Never tried roadkill pie myself, but a former boss used to cook it occasionally.
