I just watched the SG1 series finale.

Wicca who Wonta

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I just watched Unending, the last episode of SG1. I think that it was a pretty good episode but kinda predictable. It was different from what I had imagined the finale would be like - I had imagined I'd get to see a lot of battle with the Ori. But I liked the way they focused on the characters instead.

I'm currently at the near end of season 3 of SGA. I'm glad that I have two more seasons of Atlantis to look forward to now that I've finished SG-1.

I was surprised that they killed off the Asgard too. And I agree that they should have at least gotten to die with glory.

Try to keep in mind they had another finale written and were weeks away from filming it when Sci-Fi announced the cancellation. They had to ditch the finale they had planned, and re-write a new one to serve as a series finale. Under the circumstances, I think they did pretty good and consider Unending as a good episode and a fine way to end SG-1.

I was really pissed over what they did with the Asgard.

same thing i felt. killing off an entire race for a silly finale? and they killed them off with a whimper. bah!

Yeah, that was pretty poor. I loved the Asgard, now I'll never get to hear Hermiod muttering under his breath again :(

Still, I liked the finale. It was so completely different to what I imagined an SG1 finale would be like, and the montage on the ship really brought home the whole 'family' thing amongst the characters. Nice work.

I had no problem with them killing off the Asgard they were pretty a dying race anyway, it was sad and powerful but I think that's what a series should've been. And how knows there might be more Asgard out there. ;)

Well if they ever want to bring them back it won't be difficult - does anyone NOT think that they stored copies of their consciousness in the core on the Odyssey?

I'm sure that Carter would've found them in the finale and that would defeat the purpose of getting rid of them in the first place. But I do think there are others out there. ;)

Wouldn't it be awsome if some kind of long lost Asgard tribe like, ya know, showed up in the Pegasus Galaxy. That would sure be an awsome way to bring them back.

I always thought they were to short, it would have been cool to see them in suits akin to the ID4 aliens.

I thought they were perfect. They fit right in with the real-life legends of the Greys.

Why do you think she would have found them already? You think a quick scan through the HDD and you already have all Asgard knowledge?

Besides I'm talking about HOW the producers could bring them back if they really wanted to. They killed them because they don't, I would imagine, but if they did decide to then thats one reasonable way.

I think the way they've brought them back in Atlantis is a good start.

I said she would've found them in the finale since she had 50 years to look though their database.
