I also watch for cardassians on the other Trek series.

Well...and I say this as a major Cardassian fan myself...I think you need to make sure you're very aware of where the line is between fantasy and real life. Stories and speculation are one thing--just make sure you don't cross the line.

I don't think it's weird at all. I think if Trek were real, I'd probably pursue a Bolian, a Cardassian or a Romulan.

Now, if Star Wars were real, I'd pursue a Togruta or Twi'lek.

What I am suggesting is that fans should be careful about immersing themselves too deeply into the fantasy. While granted, some people have done that out of mental disturbance, many have just done it by pure and simple overindulgence.

Heh. I actually run a Trek RPG that is Cardassians and Starfleet. My character (human, Starfleet) is in love with one.

Not every Cardassian is evil. And Dukat, Garak and Damar were all great characters.

I'm sorry if I sounded insulting. Delusional was a poorly chosen word. It bothered me that you immediately jumped to warnings of overidulgence. I don't see any warning signs that would make me think the original post was meant in anything but good fun.

Well, I remember when they first started showing female Cardassians, they showed that they tend to put makeup on the spoon-shaped marks on their foreheads, so it seems that's some kind of errogenous zone for Cardassians. Interesting! I'd prefer an Andorian or even a Romulan, but I'd tumble for a cute Cardassian, or a half-Cardassian like Ziyal, even though it'd mean having Dukat as a father-in-law! Nightmare! -- RR
