I just noticed Kirk got kicked in the balls by Finnegan.

Given the topic, I don't think it's too out of place to show this gem by SpockBoy.

There's a deleted take from "The Gamesters of Triskelion" where Paul Baxley, Shatner's stunt double, splits his Kirk pants while fighting. You can see it in the book Star Trek: Lost Scenes.

According to Shatner, Gary Lockwood split his pants during the fight scene in "Where No Man Has Gone Before".

Would have been interesting to see the real Finnegan in a later adventure

Definitely not the paragon of virtue that Kirk or even Bob Wesley were.

Damn, they should have made Finnegan captain of the Exeter instead of Ron Tracey in Omega Glory. That would have been fitting

The only way to handle a bully for a man is to beat his ass.

Schools have never protected a victim. Not in my time, and not today. You were on your own.

On a particular occasion when I was picked on in grade school, and got in some trouble for fighting back and then getting caught (I was not as clever as the bullys when it came to being sneaky), my Dad gave me some great advice that I never forgot; he said:

"Don't do anything on the school ground, this kid walks home through the woods, right? Wait for him and jump him there when no one else is around."

I never did get to try out his advice, but never forgot it, and loved him all the more for it. The 70s were a different time.:)
