ok when i saw the ep name on the dvd disc i thought to myself...oh its that episode where seven gets captured and forced to fight, and the rock is in it
and i knew that episode sucks but i was still looking forward to it

oh my god....the fight was so much worse

so stupid, so boring, so pointless, every single thing in this ep, from boothby, to chaotic space, chaoktoay vision quest, everything sucked hardcore....even had the doctor singing to chakotay to test his vocal responses or some bull shit

dear lord jesus christ this is voyager at its worst
i was falling asleep and it was like 8 pm (i normally stay up till 2 am)

jeeeeze! and you guys bad mouth threshhold (yes it has major flaws like getting transwarp wrong, but i can still watch it and enjoy it)

ugh
the fight is so bad........SO bad

currently has my vote for worst ep, although 6 and 7 have some bad ones to

See, I don't understand. You properly punctuate and use capital letters on the thread title, but not in your opening post.

As for the ep itself, The Fight has the dubious distinction of being one of those Trek episodes that I just shot off a bit into it because I thought it was bad enough to cut off before the halfway point.

i believe the episode with the rock is 'tsunkatse'. i watched most of voyager by reading reviews of the episodes and picking the higher rated first on youtube. 'the fight' is rated everywhere as out of the question' so i got to know it late. enjoyed some lowly rated episodes such as 'coda', but 'the fight' was as bad as promised. one episode is typically chopped into give pieces on youtube, i gave up after the first one.

a big thank you for the guys who run the outstanding trek encyclopedia ditl.org, and for chromalias, startrekepisodes, bw949084 for presenting voyger on youtube.

Shhh.

You're corrupting the youth.

We are not allowed to talk about piracy in a positive light.

If we stop talking about it, it may just go away.

Y'know like teen pregnancy or alcoholism.

Though you'd think that after watching the fight, people might think twice about downloading illegal material ever again.

sorry. where i live it's not a crime that rivals sex offences, but i'm of course responsible for young europeans and americans to develope respect for the law.

I'm with you, they tried to criminalize downloading (it's illegal to sell downloads.) here last year and the entire country went insane. It's amazing how clear a countries opinion can be heard when there's only 4 million people.

That says it perfectly, definitely Voyager's absolute worst outing. For the longest time, I held firm that this was the franchise's worst outing ever. Of course, then I watched "that unmentionable episode" of Enterprise. "The Fight" is now second-worst.

I think The Fight and The Thaw should get married and have clown babies that beat each other up. They could go on playdates with Paris and Janeway's lizard children.

is it not odd, though, all the big sf sagas made episodes about old-fashioned knuckle fighting. b5 had one, as poor as voyager's. when battle star galactica was aired on scifi, i stumbled upon one of their episodes, and there was boxing. never again bothered with bsg. not that i'm aware of any, but i bet stargate had some as well.

I didn't manage to watch through The Fight and turned it off before the end. I'm not very fond of most Chakotay-centric episodes but this is by far the worst of them all!

I haven't seen it for quite a while, but I recall when last seeing it that I thought it was alright.

Ya i watchd this ep once on my 'tv' cause i was bored near to tears and never again. chuckles at his worst.

I liked "The Fight", it was definitely better than the drek that was "The Disease" or "The Muse" or "Live Fast And Prosper."

"The Fight" tried to be scientific and though it doesn't hit all its marks, it was still a decent episode.

Besides, is a Chakotay episode really worse than a Kim or Neelix episode?

Wasn't Twisted considered the crappiest eppie? It sounded like Captain Janeway saw "Nell" one too many times...

I recall O'Niel in the ring with Teal'c.

O'Niel is dancing around fixed like ramrod still Teal'c "boxing him" while Jack is barking to the jaffa that speech about dancing which the Penguin gave Rocky, until Teal'c floors the earthling with one punch after failing to notice the thirty hits his superior officer landed on him.

Visual comedy.

Short and sweet.

Considering in BSG that the boxing was a metaphor for fucking as Starbuck and Apollo beat the living shit of each other,to temper their respective sexual frustrations about all the every day crap standing between them two and nudity, so truly for the life of me I can't see how that wasn't entertaining?

I'm one of those odd ducks that actually liked "The Fight". Yeah, it had some problems (apparently it was rushed into production early). A little more tweaking here and there before filming or a little more editing afterwards would have really helped the episode, but the story concept wasn't bad. I've seen much worse in Trek.

You know..after stumbling upon this episode about five years of not watching it, I do indeed see the point in it being a pretty bad episode. I think the acting was a little strange and meaningless in some parts. I did, however, enjoy the boxing part of the episode and that ring Chakotay had to box in. Other than that, meh..could have done without it(however I watched that episode many times when I first recorded it). I can now see why some posters have issues with this episode. It was pretty stinky.
