Hey it could have been worse. Regeneration could have been retconned to be "a gift of the TARDIS" like how it translates stuff for you.

I have controversial opinions on the show too but not to the detriment of actors, or future actors. I'd like to see some villains killed off, and that's purely my opinion.

That's exactly how it was first described pretty much. So it would a retretcon...or given The Power Of The Daleks status...a recon.
They did that in 88 and 89...they got better sometime after 2005.

Earlier if you count books and audios.
The Daleks were suppose to have been wiped out...several times over the course of Doctor Who. Including The Evil of the Daleks, which was actually suppose to be the last time they were going to be used (due to Nation going to pitch the Daleks in America, thus removing them from the hands of the BBC) so they had the Doctor destroy their empire at the source. But the Americans wouldn't bite, so Nation came back, and so did the Daleks.
Well I'm a bit over the Daleks to be honest. I'd like them perma dead.
Go and enjoy remembrance of the Daleks, and pretend it occurs after their last appearance under Capaldi instead of when it did xD
