I hate Niaspan ER

No matter how I time it, I keep getting flushes. Hot, itchy, and RED!

Any tips from people on minimizing side effects?

It's better than taking OTC niacin, that' s for damn sure.

Ask your doctor if it's okay to take a baby aspirin everyday as taking aspirin with the niaspan is supposed to lessen the flushing.

What are you taking it for? Would niacinamide (which doesn't cause the skin flushing and itching you get from taking large doses of niacin) be an effective substitute?

Yeah, I take baby aspirin before it. It's just that, since it's extended release, some of it releases when my stomach's empty, which is when I get the flushing and itching.
