What a shame... Could have been an exquisite hotel, brought non-Trekkie's to the genre and brand, could have made millions upon millions in profit... I'd say no one has vision anymore...but this was 14 years ago and now we have Elon Musk.

If the exterior had been screen accurate it would have been a hotel with barely any windows, it would have been a gigantic tin can.
To make it an actual working hotel that people would want to spend time in many changes would have been made to the exterior and the interior, it would have most likely been an Enterprise shaped building with balconies on top of the saucer

True.. but if built today, I am certain that they could use those one-way windows that aren't apparent from the exterior... can't think of the name, but from the outside, just a faint outline of the window, inside, clear as any glass.

But in 1992 I'm sure they couldn't do that.
