I finally completed the DS9 relaunch!

You really should've included Rough Beasts of Empire and Zero Sum Game (in that order) in your DS9-R reading list, because they're officially part of that series despite being published under the Typhon Pact miniseries header.

"Officially" is putting it too strongly, especially since, IIRC, the author of RBoE has said he doesn't consider it a DS9 novel (only 1/3 of it deals with Sisko, the rest with Spock and the Romulans). It would be more meaningful to say that both books contribute materially to the ongoing DS9 continuity.

ZSG includes the 'The saga of Deep Space Nine will continue' tag on its final page, which, as far as I am aware, is only attached to novels which are officially part of the DS9-R's primary core continuity. RBoE's place could be argued, but I personally consider it to be an official part of the DS9-R core continuity, and based my statement on that.

You keep using the word "official," but I don't think that word means what you think it means. How is it "official"? What "office" is handing down a dictum declaring it such? ALL licensed Trek fiction is official, in the sense that it is authorized by CBS Consumer Products. But beyond that, there's no "official" anything. There's just the creative choices of the authors and editors.

Yes, RBoE and ZSG are integral and important parts of the DS9 post-finale core continuity, but the way you keep harping on the word "official" is just meaningless, an abuse of the word and a fallacious appeal to authority.

Paths of Disharmony, while primarily a TNG-R novel, is also connected to the DS9-R and, IMO, ought to be read in conjunction with it. The Destiny novels should also be read, IMO, in conjunction with the DS9-R.

Ummm, I really don't think so and I think most on here would agree with me.

Chronologically, the novels fit in pretty much where I have them and all of the "other" DS9 novels, the ones that most consider part of the relaunch and not part of a miniseries like Typhon Pact, all take place at least two years before the earliest of the Voyager/TNG relaunch series. They all pretty much rely on back-history that I wouldn't have read yet if I were to read them as you suggest. It really would make absolutely no sense for me to read them now, without reading everything else as I have listed. I will read them when I get to them in their correct order.

The reading list I have was made with the help of quite a few members of this group, many of them the authors themselves, and other than one or two novels that could be flip-flopped, most people on here seem to agree with the order of this list.

Well, I finished my after DS9 relaunch Vanguard break and just start Voyager: Homecoming. I'm really enjoying it so far. It just feels like I really accomplished something, reading through the entire DS9 relaunch and the Mirror Universe series. I really enjoyed the brief distraction of the S.C.E. Lovell arc and Vanguard: Declassified but it really feels good to finally be starting the whole Voyager/TNG relaunch and moving on towards the Titan novels and the Destiny series. I keep hearing so many wonderful things about Destiny and am really excited about finally getting there.

Well, I'm on my way. Wish me luck.
