I dreamt that I was sleeping!

I lucid dream most of the time, which can suck sometimes, but there was one time when I wasn't where I was dreaming in the dream. I was dreaming that I was at one of my thinking spots as a kid, and I actually start to day dream in my dream. That was an odd one.

One morning several years ago I woke up. Except I didn't know I'd woken up. I lay, rigid, unmoving for minutes on end while one part of my brain was debating with the other part as to whether I was awake or asleep. It wasn't like it was me wondering this, but like I was an observer to two other people having a dialogue. Even all these years later I still consider it to be the most surreal, freakish thing that's happened to me. Including all the stuff I did in the 80's... :p

That one is pretty common for me. You can really control a dream in that state--but then you know it's a dream that you're controlling because you're aware that you're controlling it! Twisted, huh?

I've dreamed a lot about getting up, waking up, getting washed, going to work, then finding something was not right. I dream about them a lot, especially in those moments in the morning when you wake up in your normal time, then go back to sleep, then wake up again.

That always made me wake up saying "Shit, now I gotta do it all over again!"

I'm on thyroid meds, too. My thyroid went kaput a year or two ago. It seems to take about a week for me to really notice the difference whenever meds are adjusted.

Are you sure you're allowing enough time for the pills to be absorbed? My doctor always tells me to wait an hour before eating or taking any other pills.

It *can* affect your sleep cycle, and therefore your dreams. I've had a few dreams where I was aware that I was sleeping, and it IS always a bit of a strange sensation.

They've been adjusting my meds for almost a year and a half now--always up. I do wait an hour--sometimes ONLY an hour. I tend to take the meds when I wake up in the early early morning to pee. That way I can have breakfast when I get up.

I'm a bit tired (no pun intended) of this thyroid thing. I not only get sleepy (get up, have breakfast, want to take a nap), my thinking is screwed up and I physically tire out easily, to the point that walking up a flight of stairs gets me worn out. Before you start typing, yeah, that's the thyroid stuff affecting me, not the cardio stuff.

I had another dream last night about the TrekBBS. I dreamed that someone had started a Fawlty Towers avatar contest.

I can't believe you had that dream! I'm helping the BBC promote the new Fawlty Towers Remastered DVD release, and we are having an actual Fawlty Towers 'lookalike' contest. Here, look: http://tr.im/fawltycontest . And somehow, you dreamed about it. Spooky. You should probably enter. You can win a Fawlty Towers DVD signed by John Cleese.

I had actualy dreamt once that I wearily got of my bed, used the bathroom and started watching TV before returning to my bedroom, discovered myself lying there in bed and that I was some chick at work I had a crush on.

I've had weird dreams like that on occasion - where part of it has to do with sleeping, or something related to work. Which probably means I've been working too hard. :p :D

What's truly worrisome is dreaming--repeatedly--that you're going to the bathroom. I wake up and hope that it's not too late to take the hint and get up.

Man, I've been there. Those dreams suck.
