I don't like this news about SNW season 3 from Screen Rant

He was built in 2338, and looked exactly like how he looked by "Encounter at Farpoint" 26 years later. Data also mentioned that he expected to outlive his friends, then make new friends, and outlive them too. Obviously that wouldn't happen if he aged like humans. He also didn't age when seen in AGT.

being able to physically age doesn't mean he wouldn't live forever. Maybe he just ages slower.

Also that just means AGT contradicted the other episode since it aired after.

Because Spiner was aging. Which was the entire point of why he felt Data needed to die, because Spiner felt that it was ridiculous to play an android who's not supposed to age.

You have 7 Seasons of TNG and 7 Season of VOY <--- Or as I like to call them "Boring Berman Trek" to enjoy. Guess SNW isn't your show (like TNG and VOY really aren't mine - LOVE TOS though.)

I don't include DS9 or ENT in the above as the later seasons of those shows were enjoyable for me. YMMV.

well - those are precisely my picks as well, to be honest. i only like early TNG, and ENT is the best of the berman era shows. completely agreed.

at the same time - i agree with the OP. SNW started out great, but really started losing me in season 2; by the end of it, i couldn't suspend disbelief anymore, and i can't find any possible reason the genetic tampering in the S03 trailer would have those results, considering vulcans are highly emotional beings using strict mental techniques and logic to keep themselves in check. humans turned into vulcans would be absolute ANIMALS. SNW is heading in the wrong direction after a very solid start.

Saw a rumor online this morning that Season 3 might drop in May.
Anybody else catch that?

We got a short peek at that episode, what makes you so sure that things won't go south very quickly, once they actually get to their destination?
Seems like you are kinda jumping to conclusions based on your already growing disdain for the show.

Also, it's a Sci-Fi TV SHOW with a very heavy dose of imagination and disbelief necessary, already built in to its core for over half a century.
Perhaps you're trying too hard to ignore that and need to just accept it for what it is, not what you want it to be.

Sorry that your fixed expectations are disappointed, but you can't hold them up as facts by which the show should be judged. Disbelief can be suspended for SNW as easily as for any Trek series.

honestly, i was done as of the musical episode.

the first season was pretty great. second season started off so over the top with the (heh, heh) war doctor stuff that i was already having trouble suspending disbelief; it felt like a video game, which was hammered home completely by the end of the musical episode. at that point i relegated it all to the TOS crew playing/watching Captain Pike based in-universe entertainment at best. Knowing everything we know about Vulcan culture and disciplines, that trailer was absolutely laughable. I can no longer take the show seriously in any form.

i will still watch it to completion, as i did with DSC and am doing with L.D, but it no longer feels anything like the classic Trek show it pretends to be.
