Why not? It would be funny to see a ship in distress and the captain decapitated and then the first officer says "computer activate..the Kirk!" and Kirk appears to save the days and even macks onto all the girl officers even though he's a hologram.

Kirk is dead and he died doing his job and not sitting around growing old which if I remember right is what KIrk always wanted to do.

I will never understand how people are upset that he died like he was Invincible.
