I came out. Yay me.

Also, what did you do to get a bad back?

;)

(Yes, i had to go there. I AM Shameless after all. :p )

In my 20's, I spent a lot of time lifting objects that were way to heavy for me to be lifting. When you are hungry, you do what you have to pay the bills. I am no spring chicken kids.

^ Eeeewww! Did you have to drive the thread right into the gutter? We are celebrating a coming out here not starting an orgy. :vulcan:

Have you forgotten whom you're talking to? ;)

(And kids, audio books do nothing to sooth my bad back.)

Some of us are quite skilled at giving backrubs.

^ I am 35. You talk like I am 50.

Yeah, let's have no age comments. :shifty:

(A couple of weeks ago I had a 23-year-old contradict me when I made an offhanded comment about being the oldest person in the room... which I was, by about 17 years. I have clothing that's older than he is...)

BTW, mr. peany, I don't believe I've chimed in yet, so before your thread gets completely derailed, congratulations!

I'm sure you were one hot stud back in your 20s. Your sure are one hot daddy!

I think i met my successor. ;)

I shall call you, "Mini Me." :D

Oh and I finally did it. I have been threatening forever. So here it is... The Mo's of TrekBBS on Facebook. We now have our very own club. :p Seriously.

YAY! I'm in! Well, I'm "out", but I'm in the club.

*snip*
I'm pushing 40 and I'm not married, happy *or* gay. Hope to get the first two taken care of; struck out on the third, though I do like the occasional Erasure song. :p

 That seriously made me laugh out loud. :bolian:

Same goes for me, though it was my teens and twenties. Working on my grandparents' farms, then in plywood mills. Did quite a job on my back ... and neck ... and shoulders ... and knees ... and .... Now I'm depressed. :( :p

 Classic. It's nice to know the torch will be passed to someone!

I think .... :shifty:

Ah, the infamous Shameless, you're the one Ive been warned about....

Ah, don't worry too much; he may be shameless, but he's harmless. For the most part.

Though I am curious when this went from being the "mr. peany coming out thread" to the "gay.com hook up thread." :p

Sheltered straight-dude wants to know, what's a beard?

That would be a woman who you spend time with to -- intentionally or as a "side effect" -- divert suspicion or speculation as to one's sexuality (or, rather, homosexuality). It works in reverse, as well, of course.

And I actually had a straight friend ask me to be his "gay beard" among a particular theater crowd we were working with just because he was tired of getting hit on by all the guys in the cast.

You know, this is why I love the TrekBBS community so much. Anywhere else you get a thread like this, and it takes all of two posts before the vitriol starts.

Here, it's nothing but support and fun. I think that's awesome. I hope coming out to everyone else is as easy as it was with your best friend. But even if it's not, just remember: Coming out is when you discover who is REALLY your friend, and who isn't.

True, I'm surprised even on this forum no one has said anything yet, but even if it does at least the posts would be more supportive from more ppl than anything else.

Good job man!

Yeah, honestly it has been overwhelming how positive the responses I have been getting here. I gotta say, I'm surprised and a little chuffed on the inside. Thanks heaps guys. Appreciate it beyond words can ever say.
