I just read that commercial as "Look at me, I'm Bill Gates. I have so much money I can hire Jerry Seinfeld to fit and lace shoes for me. Cower before me mortals!"

Call me crazy but I actually think Microsoft should embrace the "Evil Empire" reputation fully, and have Bill Gates star in some comedy ads where he's an Emperor type, just completely over the top in its evilness. And since Gates is such a dweebish looking/sounding guy as it is, it would be very Rick Moranis in Spaceballs, would probably be funny and endearing.
