Maybe Im weird but I always feel bad for PC guy when I see one of these commercials. I dont want to point & laugh at him, I want to hug him & say its ok, b/c he can never get the best of Mac guy no matter how much he tries. And I always thought Mac guy was annoying when he was in Ed.

:)

I love this series of ads.

"I've been error free for over a week"

Makes me hestitate to buy a non-Mac

Every time the Mac I use at work freezes up on me, I want to kick Justin Long in the teeth.

Yeah, I usually find those Mac/PC commercials to have the opposite effect on me. I can't remember which specific commercial it was, but there was one where the Mac guy was talking about something he could do "better" and I just thought, but I don't want my computer to do that.

Say what you will about the Mac ads, at least they occasionally point out a Mac feature.

Contrast with Microsoft's attempt to be cute and endearing. Watch this and you'll be begging for Justin Long. At least he sometimes talks about computer features.

I mean, it's kind of funny for the most part, but if I ever want to see Bill Gates do THAT again, I'll give Satan a call, thanks.

Small White car...after watching the vid...I agree 100%...Soo whats Satan doing this summer :)

The Shatinator

Wow... that commercial was pretty bad. Jerry Seinfeld will alllllways be funnier than Justin Long. Except in that commercial.

I just read that commercial as "Look at me, I'm Bill Gates. I have so much money I can hire Jerry Seinfeld to fit and lace shoes for me. Cower before me mortals!"

"Wow, those people down there look like ants!"

"They ARE ants, Michael... THEY ARE ANTS!"

Be nice to Bill Gates. He's got a drone lackey on this board who touts unconditional Xbox 360 love every other post. :)

A lot of guys seem to react negatively to Justin Long on a visceral level - frikken dweeb thinks he's so cool, I'd like to throw him under a bus, rarr rarr rarrr - makes me wonder whether the audition selection committee included any heterosexual males? :rommie:

Apparently, that Jerry Seinfeld/Bill Gates commercial is supposed to be the beginning of a series of commercials. I can't wait to see what they come out with.

I think they're great. And whenever he shows up on "The Daily Show", it's gold.

Oh! I hadn't even realized that was the same guy. John Hodgman, is it? TDS's "resident expert?"

I seem to have a chronic inability to recognize TDS commentators when they get other gigs. I didn't recognize Aasif Mandvi as the pizza guy from Spider-Man 2 either. Although I did recognize Steven Colbert when he played a killer on Law & Order: CI, but then, he was credited rather prominently.

Ironically, I seem to have a chronic ability to recognize all sorts of people in other gigs. Hodgman was also recently in "Baby Mama" with Tina Fey as her less-than-knowledgeable fertility doctor and Aasif Mandvi had a recurring role as a doctor on "Jericho".

Supposedly Justin Long's with Kirsten Dunst now, so that's even more TrekBBS hate for him.

There was a bit from one Daily Show about a year ago that was something like....

Hodgeman: "So, imagine I'm a computer----"
Stewart: "What kind of computer?"
Hodgeman: "What?"
Stewart: "What kind of computer are you?"
Hodgeman: "Well, statistically, I suppose I'm probably a Windows machine."
Stewart: "As in....."
Hodgeman: *sigh* "I'm.....I'm a PC."
Stewart: "Then that would make me some.....other kind....."
Hodgeman: "Okay, enough of that."

Yup. Stewart even forced him to say "I'm a PC" during a segment on net neutrality. EDIT: Aww crap, Lindley beat me to it. :D

I love the Mac ads, but mostly because PC is so cute and cuddly, in a loser kind of way. If I wasn't already a Machead, those ads would never make me want to switch--what does a Mac do, again, except not crash? :p
