"I am Quark, son of Keldar, and I have come to answer the challenge of D'Ghor, son of .... whatever."

The episodes that he does stand out in are great because they're a break from the normal wheeling and dealing that grows tiresome. As DS9 characters go, he grew a lot but only because he had so far to climb to actually be an interesting character.

To me, that made him a good deal more interesting as a character than (say) Bashir or Dax.

Username is sus...

Yeah, mileage will vary. Quark is not enjoyable for me because he varies all over the place. Some episodes are great and others are awful. I'd much rather watch Bashir.

I watched The Magnificent Ferengi yesterday.

One of my favorite episodes.
Great episode with both humor and excitement. It shows that the ferengi can be good when it comes to action too.

Not to mention Iggy Pop as Yelgrun. Excellent!
Well... "Good" in the sense of "good to watch". Incompetent at the action though.

One of the few instances of the Ferengi trying to do their best and bumbling. I like Quark in this episode because he wants to break the stereotype. Actually kind of interesting.

This means exactly the thread is good and worth it

we are all old people still here about a 30-year-old TV series, how much fresh content do you think is there to talk about

Quark is great
A series like DS9 is timeless. I really hope that young people have the opportunity to watch this great series and that they like it.

Well, the Ferengi aren't the best warriors but they are smart. They managed to outwit Yelgrun and his Jem'Hadar.

But nevertheless, the next time the Ferengi plan a prisoner exchange, I'm going to take a quick trip to a different sector.

Doing my part! My adult child loves DS9 and we're working on friends.

People just don't get it.
Double entry accounting is 700 years old. Invented in Italy.
If you check Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations you can find Smith wrote "read, write and ACCOUNT" multiple times. He used the word 'education' Eighty Times.

What is wrong with the economy in the Real World? Accounting was not made mandatory in our schools since Sputnik. Or when Quark visited Roswell.

House of Quark is a great lesson.

Anybody noticed the Repo Crisis?
