I am almost at breaking point

But you could say that about any annoying habit of any person you care about. Does this mean that you never complain about anything that anyone you care about does? Should I have not ever complained about my sons' smelly shoes or about their choice in music? Is it wrong for me to tell a son off if he wakes me up when he stumbles in drunk in the wee hours of the morning? Should I be happy when my eldest son phone me up far too late in the evening, or should I quite entitled to tell him to only phone after 10pm if it is a real emergency?

As someone who lives in a house full of people coming and going of all ages I would say Miss Chicken that you carve out personal space by telling people, regardless of age or what books they can read, VERY CLEARLY that you are now done listening to them and to please go away, thankyouverymuch I love you I will talk to you AGAIN during this day but not now. Yes sometimes peoples feelings get hurt, but they get over it quick and bounce back for more interruptions. Really people get used to whatever is accepted, if the level of interruptions acceptance is lessened they get used to that too.
