In the various Treks, we meet several people who are hybrids with parents or grandparents from different species.
Some examples are Spock, K'Ehleyr, B'Elanna Torres, Miral Paris, Simon Tarses, Tora Ziyal, Sela.
Spock always seemed to want to deny or minimize his human side and think of himself as fully Vulcan. Compare that to both K'Ehleyr and Torres, who seemed embarrassed or even ashamed of their Klingon sides. For Torres, it was to the point she wanted to erase Miral's Klingon DNA.
Simon Tarses concealed his Romulan heritage, saying instead that he was partially Vulcan. But I think he did this for strictly political reasons, rather than any inherent shame about having Romulan ancestry.
Sela was ashamed of her human ancestry, but that's unsurprising considering where and how she was raised. Who knows how she would have viewed het ancestry had her parents had a consensual relationship.
Tora Ziyal seems to have been the most well-balanced and well-adjusted of the Trek hybrids mentioned. Despite her difficulties being accepted on either Bajor or Cardassia, she acknowledged and celebrated both sides of het ancestry, despite acknowledging Cardassia's role in the Bajoran Occupation and her father's shortcomings. I think it did help that she knew that her parents loved each other and that they loved her. Dukat, for all his faults, truly loved Ziyal, and no doubt contributed to how well she turned out.
Compare that to Torres and her parents' rocky marriage, which no doubt contributed to her later struggling to make peace with het Klingon side.
