Hustle: The Final Series

I really enjoyed it. I loved Ash taking the lead for a change. I thought it gave a different tone to the episode. I liked the start with him hanging upside down in the warehouse. The best part for me though was the solilioquy! :guffaw: Priceless.

Well, I see I'm here debating with mysef! Anyway, I didn't really care for episode 3. Usually in tv I enjoy the format-breaking episodes, but for some reason not in Hustle. OTOH, I supposed the "cop of the season" episode is a format in its own right. The writers did a good job in convicing us that this season's copper wasn't a bad 'un on the take and that added to the tension. But the moment that really sticks out for me is Mickey saying "yes" to allowing Sean's friend to just join the con. Seemed mightly out of character for me, and for a show that's usually so sharply crafted has become the glaring error of the episode for me. I enjoyed some parts of it, though, Mickey the dj - hilarious (although Albert the finance guru stole the moment for me); Mickey the brief equally amusing. I like seeing our guys assume their personae.

At some point I want to watch this one again since I have the feeling that it won't hold up once you know that it's a con on the copper - Emma in the cell for instance. All of that seemed to be playing for real.

I started watching episode three but had to go out, and haven't felt the need to go back to it yet, so I guess the start didn't make much of an impact. I might get round to it today though.

Haven't they previously done an episode where they conned a bent cop for the cops? Or was it just conning a bent cop cos they don't like bent cops?

I've noticed it says they're filming in Birmingham now, how come it's still set in London but receiving funding from the East Midlands for filming in Birmingham?

Well plenty of Who eps are set in London and filmed in Wales...

Yeah, but Who doesn't get money from a regional development fund for filming in Wales. Though I guess it doesn't matter they are actually filming there.
I do think its interesting that you can get regional development money, and then pass that area off as somewhere else, but that seems to be on the industry works.

I guess its more about the local jobs, than the area being represented on TV.

Looking forward to tonight, seems Mr Barrowman might be hamming it up in this week's ep! :)

I think he is also on The One Show tonight, so EE aside Barrowman will be on just about every program on BBC 1 tonight.

I thought he was quite good, I expected him to be even more over the top!

I thought he was good, too. What I meant by "ridiculous" was that that was his character - a silly one. He did a good job at it. Particulalry loved the fake tan!

Albert hasn't had much to do this season (other than to look suave). He needs some action!

thats been the case for a few series. I was amazed when he joined Corrie, figured he would retire after Hustle. (retire from full length TV series)
