^ Hey, T'Bonz. Just out of curiosity, why don't you like "Space Seed"? Any specific grudge? I just noticed that you're the only one constantly "hurting" the episode (with me "healing" it afterwards).

Because I hated Khan and how he treated Marla.

And it lead to Spock's death in Wrath of Khan.

Yeah, Khan treats Marla very badly. Can't deny that. But I look at it this way: He's the bad guy. So he's supposed to behave that way. I rather hate Marla for engaging with Khan despite his violence. Though "hate" is an inappropriate word to describe that. I just don't understand her character. I have to say that I rather like Ricardo Montalban as Khan. He makes for a compelling and classy villain. At least IMHO.

I thought it was kind of obvious. She idolised 'great men' in history to the extent she completely lost all perspective. All it took was for one of them to come along; and that it was the smouldering Montalban didn't help matters.

She's very much an 'Every Woman Loves a Fascist' kinda gal. So I can understand hating the character; but I felt her motivations were transparent.

^ Yeah, I can see what you mean. But it's just that I don't buy into that motivation. Certainly there are people who want to be dominated by others, but I find it kind of hard to accept that someone would engage with someone who is violent towards them. (Sorry, not exaclty sure about the phrasing of that last sentence.)
