Was the humour in this film good, did you guys enjoy it, i thought chris pine and karl urban had some of the best lines in the film, and pulled them off well.Chirs pine timeing and cheeky grin with zachary being stoned face worked well .

For the most part, yes... humor hasn't always been Trek's strong suit, that's for sure, but it was well-handled here.

Scotty's "ample nacelles" line didn't go over well with any of the audiences I was a part of though, and sounded a bit off.

I think they couldn't understand him very well. For one thing, he pronounced it "nay-celles." The bean joke was missed, too. But people liked the "exciting" line.

Yup, that one worked very well... "I like this SHIP!" After a brawl on the bridge punctuated by a change in command. Very funny... :)

Oops too slow... Out of the chair was classic too.

Chris does have good timing. I always get a kick out of the line in the bar, where he cocks his head and tries to think to his drunken self what would logically follow there being last names on Uhura's planet.

I also like his almost throwaway "That's weird", commenting on Spock's bemusement at the Jellyfish computer having confirmed his voice as belonging to "Ambassador Spock".

I can't speak for the rest of Trek but I always liked the subtle (and not so subtle) humor in TOS and think it almost always worked well.

I think the humor in this film was good too...I did laugh out loud a few times and smiled much more than that.

I know; that one usually makes me LOL. Their interaction is really getting to be old school right about then.

The Kirk/McCoy "pointy-eared bastard" and McCoy "green-blooded hobgoblin" lines probably made me laugh the most. As did the stallion metaphor, "...roaming the halls weeping", "Out of the chair." and Nyota bits. Oh, and Spock's f-you to the council.

"Who is that pointy eared bastard?"/"I don't know, but I like him." + "Uh, oh, it's that pointy-eared bastard." are definitely the most memorable lines I took away from the film.

McCoy was overall the funniest character.

Compared to the Crusher/Troi/Data/Worf boob "joke" in INS (and the zit "jokes" in the same film), Scotty's "ample nacelles" line was gold.

Having started watching TOS again (1st season thru Netflix) I'm struck with how funny it could often be...much funnier than TNG and others I think.

Not a slap my knee or snarky, post-modern irony styled humor or gallows humor ----but a wholesome, down to earth, happy humor.

The new movie captured that with perhaps a little snark, though I can't think of any specifics. Mostly it seemed like happy humor reminiscent of the old show.

I can't remember the last time a Trek series or film had a genuinely funny moment. Not a cheesy, tacky or forced moment of humor (which has plagued Trek for so long), but a truly funny moment. A joke that wasn't predictable or silly or juvenile.

I think the humor in ST'09 was great. They didn't make me roll my eyes or groan. The actors had a great sense of timing and overall it worked really well.

Also thought kirk ,banging his head on the insides of the shuttle was funny, and nice tip of the hat to scotty in FF.Liked when kirk awoke in sick bay with swollen hands and bones say's he can fix it and injecting him few times .

having humor in the movie was a good choice. even the kirk's clown hands lol. as evidenced by hangover being no. 1 in theaters, people always want silly humor.

Lots of hilarious lines in the film. Scotty was terrible though, his humor was too broad and ruined the tone.
