I also like his almost throwaway "That's weird", commenting on Spock's bemusement at the Jellyfish computer having confirmed his voice as belonging to "Ambassador Spock".Chris does have good timing. I always get a kick out of the line in the bar, where he cocks his head and tries to think to his drunken self what would logically follow there being last names on Uhura's planet.
For the most part, yes... humor hasn't always been Trek's strong suit, that's for sure, but it was well-handled here.
Scotty's "ample nacelles" line didn't go over well with any of the audiences I was a part of though, and sounded a bit off.
I know; that one usually makes me LOL. Their interaction is really getting to be old school right about then.I also like his almost throwaway "That's weird", commenting on Spock's bemusement at the Jellyfish computer having confirmed his voice as belonging to "Ambassador Spock".

I can't speak for the rest of Trek but I always liked the subtle (and not so subtle) humor in TOS and think it almost always worked well.
I think the humor in this film was good too...I did laugh out loud a few times and smiled much more than that.
