Human Target cancelled

I've very mixed on this news. On one hand, I'm glad because I hated what they did in Season 2 with all the changes (two regular female characters, pop music, every story having personal invovlement, etc.) and I was not looking forward to what they had in store for Season 3. But at the same time, the thought of no more adventures for Chance, Winston, and Guerrero is pretty depressing. The actors and the characters deserved better.

Are we going to have topics created for every show that is canceled? That will be way too many, more so because Fox took the knife to their network.

Three wonderful actors, horribly wasted on the second season.
If s2 was like s1, I would miss the hell out of this series.
s2 was sometimes enjoyable, but most of the times just stupid.

And most of all I miss Bear McCreary.

I'm sad to see it go, but as some have already said the changes made in season 2 somewhat dampen my sense of loss.

Never cared too much for this series, but on the plus side it influenced DC to reprint Peter Milligan's excellent comic from the early 00s. It would take one more trade to complete his run, I hope they still go ahead with it.

I'm sad to see this one go, but not surprised. Kind of looks like the networks are going to be able to make me "kick the habit" of TV pretty soon. Never thought I'd see the day. Thank God for Netflix.

I liked it, but I didn't love it. After reading Peter Milligan's excellent Second Chances trade, I wish they had went with the original take on the character, though admittedly it would've been hard as hell to do week to week.

I am going to miss the actors though. I think the three guys had great chemistry. I didn't mind the addition of the female characters, though I think the two from season 1, played by Autumn Reeser and Emmanuelle Vaugier fit better with the show.

How long will it take to get this "Netflix direct" of saving cancelled shows up and running? Is it too early to think Human Target could be a candidate?

I think you summed it up perfectly.

Bingo. The show had real promise in S1 - especially when Chance was smoking guys left and right. Then it became slapstick and the women added nothing. Waste of talent.

I would have probably liked this show if they'd kept the sf/f genre element from the comic book. But I'm just not up for another standard cop show. They all blend together for me...

The actual Human Target concept works better when you have someone like Rick Springfield as the star as opposed to an actual "star" you build the show around and want to be on camera as often as possible. Springfield was basically a glorified supporting role on his own show while the guest star of the week got to play the lead.
