Huey Lewis: Power of Love

So I was listening to this (on CD) on the way home tonight and I always crack up in the begining of it. During the opening of it at one point Huey makes a sound like... "AHHH!!!!"

And I just can't help but picture him taking a big drink of Pepsi Free, turning to the camera (in the music video of my mind) and making that sound.

AHHHHHH.

I still think Huey Lewis was undergoing some form of genital manipulation and noticed the song was starting, so had to "finish off" quickly. That's the power of love. :bolian:

That's nothing. Listen to Frankie Goes to Hollywood's song 'Relax, Don't Do It."

Just after the 3 minute mark you get the phrase "when you wanna come" repeated a bunch of times before he yells "UH!" and you get a squirting hose sound.

The 80's were a truly messed up decade.

That would expalin "rich like cream."

You like Huey Lewis and the News?

Their early work was a little too New Wave for my
taste. But then Sports came out in 1983, I think they really
came into their own, commercially and artistically.

The whole album has a clear, crisp sound and a new sheen of
consummate professionalism that gives the songs a big boost.

He's been compared to Elvis Costello but I think
Huey has a more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In 1987 Huey released this, Fore!, their most
accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is
"Hip To Be Square," a song so catchy that most people probably
don't listen to the lyrics. But they should because it's not
just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of
trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.

It's strong and it's sudden, and it's cruel sometimes, but it might just save your life... :vulcan:

Let's face it, it is a truth universally acknowledged that any 80s song can be twisted into an anthem about self-love. :bolian:

Somebody notify the mods that there's a Psycho in our midst!

This critique coming from someone with "CheapTrick" has his moniker. :borg:

I actually got this because I finally watched the movie last week!

I'm loving all the movie quites going on here too. :bolian:

Actually saw Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble open up for Huey & the News back in 1983...and at the meet 'n' greet afterward, I gotta say...they're right about Huey. One of the nicest, most genuine, down-to-earth fellows I ever met. My buddy was wearing a Grateful Dead tee-shirt and Huey's eyes lit up. "My MOM'S a DeadHead!" (He's from Frisco, you know.)

I liked him in Duet quite a lot. Wish he'd do more acting.
