How Would YOU Reuse A Star Trek Prop?

We've all seen the reused props thread -- and it's cool and all -- but, if Star Trek had gone on to more seasons than just three how would YOU have reused existing props from other episodes.

Be wacky. Be creative!

I wanna read your crazy madcap ideas!

The Nomad unit, already partially reused as a cloaking device in season 3, re-appears in season 4. It serves as Spacedock when the Enterprise visits Earth (an updated version of this scene is done years later in The Search for Spock).

((CLAPS)) I LOVE IT!!!!

Great job!!! And, ya know...I could almost see it happening!
Of course, you realize this means I must now come up with my own photo manip to demonstrate a potential reuse of a Trek prop!

Who dares to rise to this standard that Wendell has set?!

If I had the know how, I'd combine various pieces of Nomad, Sargon's globe, the Valiant's recorder marker and maybe the laser canon from The Cage/Managerie, and come up with some sort of science probe/torpedo thingy? Or, use Lazarus' ship repainted and reworked as some sort of work pod, somethig like Jeffries explored in some of his early sketches? But since I don't have the Know how, the best I can hope for is to table these ideas for others to follow up, that is, if they don't totally suck? (The Ideas. that is :)).

Descriptions and pencil sketches also qualify!

Yes. It would be very embarrassing if someone walked in and said, "Hey you don't need to use that thing internally for a colon exam--you can just wave it over your body."

That guy would so humiliated.

Uhura's earpiece as Leonard James Akaar's pacifier in the season five classic, "Saturday's Child."

This is fun.

That's a brilliant idea, I gotta say. :techman:

Both are just crazy and TOS enough to see in one's mind - good job. :)

Excellent - and a "Friday's Child" follow-up could have actually worked.

That's a brilliant idea, I gotta say. :techman:

Thanks. QuasarVM's outside-the-box urging to "Be wacky. Be creative" was the inspiration... :D

BTW, this is an awesome thread idea, QuasarVM - well done! The actual TOS staff made great reuse of props, so it's fun to take that idea to extremes.

What if Spock's "Operation - Annihilate!" blindness returned in season 5? [cue tragic viola music] Well, "goggles" were already produced for him in "Is There in Truth No Beauty?", so that prop could be reused when McCoy hooks up Spock's Library-Computer sensors for a swirly prototype of Geordi's VISOR:
