How would you re-do Threshold

I'm sorry but what does ones sexuality have to do with what TV shows they're a fan of?

You've never watched or at a minimum been a fan of a TV show where you found the actor or character or both attractive?

Anthony Montgomery is the only reason I could stand Enterprise and kept watching.

I think Counrtney Cox & Mila Kunis are hot but didn't watch "Friends", "Cougar Town" or "That 70's Show" because I wasn't a fan of the shows. Terri Ferrell is hot but I didn't stop watching DS9 because she left. So I guess the answer is would be "No".

There's got to be more to a show than just a pretty face or hot body.

What lesbian relationship? There was never a 'relationship' and there couldn't be. It was against the rules.

Sad episode, really...

Actually as a lesbian I'm surprised you're not more of a DS9 fan than Voyager. Terri Ferrell kisses the other woman on screen [a Trek first] in Rejoined and of course Kira in the mirror universe is at a minimum a bisexual if not a full out lesbian.

Kira wasn't a Lesbian(necessarily) in the Mirror Universe, what they were showing was that she was a deviant in all aspects of her life.

This.

I think I've made it abundantly clear that, aside from the fact I actually like Voyager as a show, I love Kate Mulgrew.

Teri was attractive, but she was not enough to keep me interested in an otherwise uninteresting series (to me).

I watched seasons 1 through 3 of Xena, but I stopped because it was just too ridiculous even though I'd lick the ground Renee O'Connor and Lucy Lawless walked on.

Just because I'm a lesbian doesn't mean I don't have some discerning tastes.

I was more ribbing you if you didn't get the subtext, no harm intended.

Sorry, it's been an off week for me.

I hate coming into posts LATE... Sorry to change the subject away from lesbians Its a hot topic  and all... but I think I am the only one alive who didn't completely HATE Threshold.

Is it because of the warp 10 concept?

Is it the lack of Lesbian action while trying to achieve warp 10?:wtf:

J/K

I'm gonna re-watch it. I must just be to easy to please... all the episode really needs is Cpt. Janeway at least 50% of the time and I'm happy.

No you're not. :)

While there are some episodes I skip when re-watching this isn't one of them. It's a completely guilty pleasure. Order up a pepperoni pizza and watch the sickbay scenes with someone you love. :D

As much as I like silly Trek episodes (I watched Little Ship today in fact and I think its a great episode, nice to have some comic relief during the Dominion War) Janeway and Paris turning into lizards and doing the nasty made me feel a little sick. It was funny, but also gross. As mentioned it is an easy episode to ignore since it had no lasting affects (or do I mean effects?).

It did also seem pretty mental that warp 10 would turn a person into a lizard. The concept of warp 10 was a bit much for me anyway, then again I find it hard to believe in faster than light speed travel in the first place.

IMO Star Trek has always had loads of pure fantasy - it only pretends to be "realistic" sci-fi. Concepts like aliens all being humans with bumps on their heads or weird colourations is pure make-believe. The Genesis Device from STII and III is magic, pure and simple. Odo altering his mass along with his shape? An FTL supernova? Aliens that percieve time all at once? Going at infinity speed and mutating? Teleportation? Time travel?

I don't really get how some of these are okay, but others cause an outrage .

I watched Macrocosm the other day which also has a pretty stupid concept but is one of my favourite episodes. So I realised an easy way to fix Threshold would be to give Janeway a big gun and a vest. Or maybe get her to wear a tux like in Killing Game, that would be especially amusing if she'd still be wearing it when she turned into a lizard. Actually lets change lizard to cat because that'd be much cuter. I could even forgive her having babies with Paris if they were kittens.

I don't get why the Fair Haven program was so popular with the Voyager crew. All the holographic characters in it were mental God fearing folk. Even Janeway's boyfriend needed to be altered. I think the idea of a place set in the past was fine, but why a crappy Irish village when it could be London or Rome? Somewhere with culture. Of course for a TV show that wouldn't be very practical so maybe that's why Fair Haven was awful, I will just blame Tom Paris.

I can't even think of any words that would adequately express my opinion of this. So, here, this is kinda close:
