I know I'm in the minority, but I think "Endgame" was a near-perfect ending precisely because it showed no reunions, promotions, celebrations, reintegrations and whatnot on Earth and in the Alpha Quadrant. If it's all happy reunions, it just feels corny and drags because it's not tightly relevant to any kind of dramatic plot. If, on the other hand, someone's return to Earth is terrible, there isn't enough time to explore the tragedy and do it justice, so it comes off as gimmicky manipulation of the viewers' emotions. The image of Voyager returning to Earth as part of (a) Starfleet tells us what we need to know. They got home. The rest is left for the imagination or fan fiction or narratives in other media or just for the fascinating repository of the greatest stories forever left untold.
