No idea. But, as Roddenberry said, it would have been shit.
I've heard that somewhere.

If Paramount had come to you, and asked you to do STXI instead of JJ Abrams, what would you have done? Would you have done a origin story as well, or something different?
With my various rants and raves concerning Star Trek Eleven I have to say that the uniforms are at the top of my personal rave list. I thought they look great .. except for the scene with nuKirk sitting in the Captain chair for the first time wearing a black shirt, so we would all know that he was in fact a bad boy. Just in case the previous near hour of hitting us of the head with the information hadn't registered.and improved uniforms
i would have remade 'the cage' with perhaps a moderate amount of lens flair.
I would keep untouched: uniforms, warp entry effect, opening of movie with George Kirk. Some of the suggestions would be meaningless to non-trek fans, but would also probably not register with them either. They would have meaning to certain trek fans though.and improved uniforms

My version would have looked more like the original Star Trek in terms of visual design.
This is reason #157 that I have lots of time to chat on the Internet instead of being busy and in demand to produce Hollywood movies.![]()
I personally like the idea of being closer to TOS, but the truth is, the TOS look and feel would not hold up as well on the big screen and be believable enough to carry a 2009 movie.
I would have kept the 1701 exterior ship from TOS as is. I would have took the 1701 production design(interior sets) of "Cage" and TOS, then just made minor changes to detail update the look...the way J.J. Abrams did with the Starfleet uniforms so very close to TOS unforms.
I would have kept TOS Phasers, Communicators and Tricorders with no changes, not the JJ Abrams new ones.
I never have bought into this, other than teching up the visual displays, the original internal designs would have served fine. The external design also, again with the minimal amount of tweeking, would have been superior and in keeping with the TOS theme. The TOS designs would have been laughed off the screen by general audiences.
The Andromeda Strain corridors were hardly necessary.
- The Movie would be greeted by an audience underwhelmed by the fact that the TOS Enterprise did not look convincing on the big screen (they drastically changed things for TMP for a reason, you know).

Your disagreement on this does not change the hard truth. The TOS designs simply would not have held up on a big screen.
Without the "wow" factor, the movie would not be viable for Paramount to release.

The hard truth? Oh boy.

Dude, you constantly sell your own opinions and speculations as if they were universal truth. Please stop that.

I did say Truth rather than Fact for this very reason.
I'm being a realist here.

LOL, you don't get it. *sigh*
