How would star trek have looked if it were made not by humans, but by another Star Trek race?

We all know and (I suppose) love Star Trek. Klingons have a warrior culture, Ferengi are greedy, Romulans are generally stealthy, sneaky bastards, and so on.

But it's almost always the human perspective we see. So, suppose Star Trek was made by, say, the Klingons- how would they portray themselves, and "us" (Starfleet)? Would they be pictured as an effeminate bunch that pamper their bodies way too much to be considered warriors, for example? Or how would the Ferengi portray the Romulans? Or the Romulans the Cardassians? What kind of stereotypes or preconceptions would we see that we don't get to see now, but might hold some validity to them (from another viewpoint)?

This is touched on in the old novel The Final Reflection, where the Klingons have their own version of Star Trek, called Battlecruiser Vengeance. Click!

Vulcan Star Trek would be the story of other races being led to rash decisions by their emotions, and the Vulcan officer saving them through logical reasoning.

You have not experienced Roddenberry until you have read him in the original Klingon.

Klingon Star Trek would have alien races have huge smooth foreheads because the Klingon actors would have to wear a bald cap or something like that to make their foreheads look smooth.

Cardassian Star Trek would take place in an administrative office. The main characters would be loyal Cardassians who do their duty and execute the correct judgment of the state. Giving medals to loyal Cardassian soldiers, filing execution orders for evil criminals who defied the state, selfishly believing their own judgment could be superior.

There would be one human living on Cardassia, after escaping Earth because he was court martialed for following an order he was given which was later considered to be an immoral order. The human learns to adapt to Cardassian society, occasionally believing his personal morality is correct, then coming to realize he was wrong and he should have just executed orders. He throws himself on the mercy of the court and is benevolently only given one year hard labor for having reformed and learned the evils of independent thought.

:guffaw:This would be amazing. I'd love to see something like this on The Orville.

    There's a Star Trek: I.K.S. Gorkon/Klingon Empire novel series.
ST: The Fall: The Crimson Shadow plays out like a Cardassian detective novel.
Or you roll a KDF character in STO.

The Betazoid Star Trek would have a lot more voiceover dialogue of the characters explaining their emotions during the scenes.

^that's an interesting thought. Wouldn't they have developed technology for transmitting emotions as well ? Then they wouldn't need the voice-over ...

Ferengi star trek would probably be more instructional. using alien races with various exaggerated weak spots that can be exploited for gain, intended as a metaphor for real life. Now go, and earn yourself some latinum!

Star Trek as told by the Pakleds. Opening monologue:
"Space...Where we go now. These are the trips of the spaceship 'HappyTime'. It's long job to go here...and here...and meet people,,,and other strange people...and steal things. Things to make us go. And be strong. Be fearful. ..We have not been here before."

Ferengi Star Trek would be the story of a Ferengi ship, exploring space to discover new races and profit by exploiting them. Every time it seemed the profitable venture would be thwarted by the aliens' moral virtue, they'd find a new way to bribe or blackmail somebody, or otherwise bring the seemingly virtuous person in to share profit from the scam (Before tricking them and making off with all the money anyway). The arrogant alien woman would always submit and derobe at the end.

It would not be logical to show such bias, and therefore I disagree. Vulcan Star Trek would instead be the most objective version, and would be a documentary of the mission of a survey vessel and a multi-species crew, including all of the mindless tedium of basic daily duty life, interviews with crew regarding their experiences, etc. It would be Star Trek - The Office, but not as funny.

I suppose they would not show bias (Unless it was written by a Vulcan who happened to go to class with Benjamin Sisko). But I would argue there is no true objectivity. The director influences the story just by pointing the camera. Even if you try to tell a purely objective story, you're still editing a week down to an hour. The Vulcan director would focus on the parts of the story where logical decisions turned out to be correct and emotional ones turned out to be harmful.

I mean, if you're going to argue that Vulcans are *never* illogical and do not harbor pride over their logic, you have to defend the one who thought the best way to prove Vulcans were superior to humans was beating them at baseball. :)

Why would it be under such an illogical time constraint? ;)

Completely as an aside, I love the idea of Vulcans having advertising, because it is, after all, a way to let people know about what is available, but it being completely truthful and logical: "We presently have an inventory of 19 6-occupancy hover transports. These are the same transports that are available at T'Var Transports in Shi'Kahr, and at present, they are offering them for 5.2% fewer credits than we are. However, they are relatively distant, and there may be a value to you in the increased efficiency of having the included service and support available here in Kwil'lnor. Also, at last measure, our technicians have better average service outcomes than theirs by a margin of 3.4%. So make your analysis, and then come to Sovar Hover Technologies if you find that to be the correct course of action."

Yes, but I think you have to have 50 posts under your belt, or something like that. At the bottom of your post, it should say something like:

And the Edit should be clickable.

The changeling version of Star Trek would be a show about exploration, only instead of making peace with new races, they'd bring the barbaric, chaotic solids under their order and guidance.
