How would DS9 be different, if it were made today instead of in the 90's ?

That's one way Garak could be played. But Garak isn't helping the Federation in the war out of the goodness of his heart. He hates Dukat and his misrule of Cardassia, starting with making Cardassia a vassal of the Dominion. The sooner Dukat's government is thrown out the better. And who better to help that along than an operative of the Obsidian Order?

edit: originally mistakenly posted Odo in place of Dukat. Fixed.

I think you meant Garak? ;P

If the show was actually made for first time now, but TNG was still long ago, the engineering crossover character probably would not be O'Brien but instead Tom and B'Elanna's daughter, or Seven of Nine as crossover science officer character, or maybe the producers would finally LOL get Forbes to play Ro as lead or first officer but there would probably still also be, not sure if her or someone else, both a Bajoran religious character as well as newcomer/outsider to their religion like Sisko.

Tonight marks 30 years since the Bell Riots 2-parter first aired. I do wonder how much different "Past Tense, Parts I and II" would be were they made now as opposed to in 1994.
