How to stay alive in Multiplayer?

Fundamentally, like you can't compete with track athletics, you can't compete against people with no social lives who can spent 10 hours a day on-line practising. I did a bit of on-line play with MW but it's too much of a pointless timesink for me with little return. Sure if I'm willing to put in the ten hours I could get better but I could learn a useful skill in the same time-scale.

the other day there was a guy camper-sniping on that footbridge on Derailed. I walked up behind him and took him out with a headshot without him seeing me coming, he was so fixated on his sniper scope.
Love those guys. :D

i've done it on the clifftop on Afghan as well. it's also nice running up to the bottom of the steps by the tunnel in Skidrow and lobbing a 'nade or semtex over the wall and blowing up campers there.

I wish COD had bigger maps and a objective mode so attack n defend stuff in order (Original Unreal Tournament had it) makes team play so much better than people sitting in a hedge sniping folks.

Camping happens-if you plan to deal with it you should do ok. I'm playing BOps and I love CTF because its a mix of campers and run n gunners. You can do what you want as long as it plays into the team strategy.

which COD are you referring to, Jax? COD:UO had base assault and bigass maps. MW2 also has some big maps. - which are usually the ones that turn into camper-snipe matches. *coughwastelandandderailed*cough*

Never played online with UO and MW 2 online maps are better than MW 1 no doubt but still a little too linear in some places. I always liked WAW online the most in COD though that was due to more balanced weapons than maps.

Playing MoH at moment but doing SP first before MP, whats maps like on that ?

I played several rounds of MAG the other night on the PS3, and I was shocked by sheer number of players in each match — 64 was the smallest, and 256 was the biggest. That was something else, particulary in game modes where teams had to acquire various objectives (destroying bunkers, vehicles, oil refineries and whatnot). Suffice to say, in-game death for me was pretty darn common.

^ The fact that up to 256 players can play in one game was one of MAG's selling points. Besides, MAG actually stands for Massive Action Game.

Yeah. I'd never experienced that sort of massive gameplay on a console before. It was interesting, to say the least.

Been playing BF:BC 2 online on the 360 and its pretty enjoyable though the ability to see and follow your killer for several seconds before you spawn is a real ball breaker if you are the one who has just killed someone especially if your a sniper...When you are killed you should not be rewarded with the location of your killer or what direction he is neading next.

only key to staying alive on that one is avoid tanks and be careful of snipers.
