Why kill her off? Say she's taking time out for her mental health, she never appears on screen because she's taking time off for mental health somewhere. Seems kind of dark to kill her off needlessly, although that's probably going to be the House of Cards/Kevin Spacey game plan.

Additionally...

Killing Roseanne the character off is implying that Roseanne the real life comedian deserves death for her tweet, and she does not deserve that - despite it being vulgar, incendiary and callous. It made me nauseous when I read it, but hey - that's twitter for you.

The poll is great, by the way. Clearly written by someone who had seen every show this season.

Dies at a white supremacist march when one of her friends mistakes her for a counter protester and drives his car into her?

Yeah, I agree killing the character would send the wrong message about real life. Maybe she contracts a mental illness? ...And one of her friends passes a bill making it legal to lock her up without recourse even though she hasn't done anything wrong because they blamed mental illness for a school shooting to avoid blaming white supremacy.

You could actually switch it around and ask whether the character of Roseanne Conner deserves to die because of what Roseanne Barr did. I mean, yeah, she's fictional, but she's been around for 30 years and means a lot to millions of people.

But enough with the silly pseudo-philosophy.

Killing her off because of a botched operation might send some mixed signals, considering they planned on going to Mexico for the surgery.

After what happened with Dallas and Bobby Ewing, it's amazing how often characters are left to die off when they leave a TV show. It makes future writing and planning that much harder if actors return. I haven't seen much Grey's Anatomy, but from what I've seen - no one makes it out of that show alive.

Just pay the cast in full for the unmade second season and be done with it. If they can't hold on to their cash or their careers after that, it's on them. Wipe the slate clean.

Because many many many people want to see the Connors on their TVs. Roseanne Barr is a racist and / or have serious mental health issues, but the 10th season of the show was actually extremely great. No need to end it because one actor is a racist / mentally ill.

No, it doesn't. Not at all. That's an extreme interpretation. Characters are killed off all the time when their actors are no longer available to continue the role.

It turns out that she was a robot this entire time, the real Roseanne died years ago. The robot went cray cray, started screaming racist remarks and finally exploded in a puff of orange smoke.

If there's a Fox revival and an ABC spin off then both shows can duel it out. One with Roseanne and one without. Then they can both die a blessed death.

Disney let a show go? :guffaw:

They’ll hang on to the rights until the sun consumes the Earth and probably long after that.

Ridiculous. And conspiratorial.
Barr would believe it. As would Trump.

If they continue it in any fashion Roseanne will still profit because she's a creator of the series. So fuck that noise.

Roseanne is invited to visit her bigliest fan, President Trump, at the White House. On her flight to Washington DC, her plane flies through some sort of strange storm that doesn't show up on radar and passes through a glowing, swirling eddy at its center. Bizarre colors whirl around her head. Is this some sort of temporal vortex, or did she take one too many Ambien to rest on the flight? Miraculously, the plane emerges from the storm intact, but it is badly damaged. The pilot heroically makes a crash landing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, but perishes in the crushed cockpit. Alone and hurt, Roseanne emerges from the plane and looks around at the peaceful Washington DC landscape before her. Everything looks normal, so she decides to turn around and walk to the top of the steps to sit down and wait for her rescue. That's when she looks up and gasps in shock at the sight before her...
