I believe people are taller and larger in more countries now mainly because of increased protein in the diet and better availability of food. This is not necessarily a good thing, because bigger people take up more resources.

Very short women look normal to me. Very tall women impress me.
Short men are okay with me. And very tall men can make me a little uncomfortable. I didn't grow up around them.
