I guess but the thing is.. religious terms (especially generic 'god') have lasted. Even Jesus and Christ as words in our language is still with us. Who is to say they won't go for another three hundred years?

It's a usage of language. 'Blasphemy' isn't reverence, lol. Just as some language we use today has survived without relevance to a belief or direct meaning, some will continue.

The Eugenics wars.

World War 3.

10 year long dark age with no technology or formal education for anyone. Children can't read the bible because they can't read.

Aliens. Perspective, about how sky is just sky and not the afterlife.

Utopia. Free society, education for everyone, and they learn the difference between mythology and history, no barriers.

Colonization. The people who can't handle a godless earth, are given ships for free, and wished good luck, as they bugger off.

"Sigh"

In the 2150s, during episodes of Enteprise... We are told that they still make Superman comic books. :)

3 billion Christians, 3 billion Muslims, and 1 billion Chinese Communists (Atheists).

The illusion that we're in some age of enlightenment is good.
I think modern Japan is a good barometer of where most people will be in a few centuries.

Walk into any Japanese high school and ask the kids to raise their hands if they consider themselves to be Shinto. Most, if not all, of them will raise their hands. Do the same for Buddhism and you'll get a similar result. Then ask them if they believe an Omnipotent/omniscient deity controls the universe and few if any will raise their hands.

So it's basically just as it is in the average slice of life anime: Everyone has the holidays and follows the traditions and protocols, but don't actually "believe." They view the Kami as we might see Santa.

And I think that's how it's going to eventually end up for most of humanity. But I also think there will always be faith.

**It's time to start rewriting the "Star Trek history" chronology too.

How about we all get re-programmed by one big universal translator that leaves poor God out of it?

Editing ;)

Same for me for the most part. Although, I'd say I have "lists" of re-watchable episodes for each of the other series, but they get shorter and shorter with each subsequent series.

Especially nowadays and the long-arc shows. It's hard to follow a single narrative over many years. One thing about episodic Trek is you can pretty much watch any episode at any time.
