How popular would a video game set during Enterprise be?

Enterprise is featured in Legacy, Encounters and STO, but its never had a video game of its own like TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and even the Kelvin films have had. I'm wondering how popular would a video game be if one were to be made set during Enterprise?

It could cover the various planned S5 episodes, (Kzinti, Stratos, Denobula visit, Columbia, Future Guy, Reed’s connection to Colonel Green, T’Pol being half Romulan, Romulan War, Shran serving on the NX-01, mirror universe, NX-refit), and maybe the various Enterprise novels (Romulan War saga, Rise of the Federation saga, Daedalus & Daedalus’s Children, What Price Honor?, Surak’s Soul, Rosetta). Or it could be a completely original story. Game graphics are much better now compared to when ENT was originally airing, and could easily have the same quality as the CGI seen during ENT.

What do you think?

A game set during the early years of Starfleet would be popular if it was good.

A Mass Effect style game with more focus on exploration and space combat would be a lot of fun, but will probably never happen. I loved landing on planets in ME and charting them.

This HL2 mod seemed promising

Sadly, like many fan projects, it's been abandoned.

I remember seeing that mod being developed back in the day. Did not know that it was dropped. :(

Being aware that both Goldeneye and Perfect Dark mods were also made for HL2. And that in recent months, there’s been news on how there was supposed to be a Goldeneye XBLA release in 2007-08 but it cancelled, and the planned reboot of Perfect Dark on Xbox Series X is on the way, are the only things that gives me hopes that some sort of news will come out someday on an Enterprise game. Seems HL2 mods seem to be considered to be console games at some point.

There are many elements from Mass Effect that would work in a Star Trek game. And being set during the Enterprise era, its not like the galactic map would be that big. It would probably allow for more detailed worlds.

Is this the one that got recycled into a HL2 continuation mod, or was that another one?

The Mass Effect trilogy are probably the best set of Star Trek games we are ever going to get. :(

They could have made a followup to Elite Force by using MACOs. But I've mentioned before that an RPG like Greedfall would probably work. In that game, the main character is more or less a diplomatic liaison between different factions and the native population of a colonized world. Apply that to Star Trek, and you could have a starship tasked with visiting different colonies and solving problems in hopefully peaceful ways.

When you consider the size of games like Cyberpunk or Assassins Creed nowadays, you could probably have more than the handful of worlds you'd expect in an Enterprise game.

Personally I wouldn't buy a game set during ENT, it's the worst of the series for me. I'd love a game set around a protagonist on a non-hero ship in a different timeline, though. Something a bit like Mass Effect, crossed with No Mans Sky. But good.

I think a Star Trek game outright named "The Romulan War" featuring the Earth Romulan Wars where Enterprise NX-01 will have a prominent presence but maybe not necessarily in the starring role, would sell rather well.

That would be awesome. I would enjoy seeing what crazy 2150's-era weapons they could come up with.

I remember in one of the early episodes, a bunch of Nausicaans were invading a cargo ship, standing in a cluster and blasting away with their beam weapons. And I remember thinking that a WWI-era fragmentation grenade would have cut the whole lot of them down. Later, the MACO's showed that their arsenal included energy grenades of some sort. Basic good sense, really.

Elite Force 3 where you play as a MACO during season three would have been awesome.

There's a totally bizarre fan-made Half-Life 2: Episode Three: The Closure mod out there where the creator took maps, props, sounds and textures wholesale from an abandoned ENT mod (I'm guessing the one mentioned above) and dropped them into his game. So you go to the Borealis, there's a weird magic box inside and inside that? A couple of decks of Enterprise NX-01. And you run around shooting Combine soldiers and headcrab zombies while trying to stop an insane Dr. Kleiner and resurrected Dr. Breen. It is bonkers.
