Well Citi Field is officially open for business now. There was a college game there over the weekend to 'shakedown' the new stadium, and the Mets are playing a pair of exhibition games this coming weekend.
)Has the old Shea site been paved yet? I'm going to a game in a few weeks and if that's not open yet I'm definitely taking mass transit.
I don't know where the old Apple will go. I think it's a little campy to put out in the Jackie Robinson Rotunda area, but something a little more prominent than right field would be nice. I get the feeling that the stadium is "substantially complete" but still needs some finishing touches.

The apple is being displayed ...I forget where and I just read it in the darn paper the other day...! All I know is I'm still pissed it's called Citifield...I'm not going to refer to it that way...and here we are economy is in the shitter and the city...us...paying for these new stadiums...really annoyed about that. I planned on boycotting this year but my sister bought tickets for April 18th ...so that's the only way i'm going is for free because I'm not spending one dollar there. We also bought a memorial brick for my dad so that will be nice to see and that's the main reason i'm going.Pity the weather was so dreary the first game, though. And that the uniform patch is so damn ugly (looks like the Domino's Pizza logo!)

They've been totally murdered by that patch on various sites. ESPN.com had a whole column devoted to the epic fail of it all.
I'm going two weeks from today and if you ask real nice I'll take a shitload of pics.

Hey Baba, where you from? You seem to be a big NY baseball guy but don't appear to live there.
