How much Iowa are we going to see?

Though I'm hoping to hear young Kirk say, "Dez Moinez." ;)
There are people who say this, presumably?

More than you'd think. Many are also the same people who think everyone from Iowa is an Iowa Hawkeye fan. (Which always fries my potatoes because I graduated from ISU.)
I'm not sure I'd be that surprised, really. ;) I was just trying to get an idea about whether it was mainly tourists/non-Iowegians or an actual local thing. We've got some rather amusing local pronunciations here, too.

On thread, since the second team was out in Bakersfield shooting for what, one day with the young Kirks, I'd guess we're going to see very little of "Iowa" except perhaps on sets.
That would also be my guess. Even including "Iowa" scenes shot in soundstages, I can't see Iowa taking up much more than fifteen or twenty minutes of the total running time of the movie, if even that. There's just too much other ground to cover.

^ I'd not be opposed to 15 or 20 minutes, as you say...but I don't think they need to dwell on it. We need movie to get to the action pretty fast.

I think we'll see about this much:

Fifteen to twenty minutes would be an enormous part of a movie that's not really about Kirk to begin with. More seriously than "45 seconds" I'll guess that the two or three Iowa sequences will total five minutes or less of the film's running time.

Me : I can see my house from up here....

And, you left your lights on and the toilet's running.

Starship Polaris is probably right. No more than a quick scene or two. Two minutes, tops. This movie is not the biography of James T. Kirk, after all. Also, let's not forget this is supposed to be a Spock-centric story.
