I have really enjoyed these remasters. Especially the bright colors and clean prints, and some of the enhanced effects. Since I would guess only fans are buying these DVDS why doesn't CBS air these at 10:00pm on some night where they have bad ratings anyway.

Enterprise barly pulled in 2 million in its final season. If TOS was on Tuesday nights, CBS, 10-11pm, how many viewers do you think an average episode attract?

Rob

I wouldn't watch anything cut up by commercials...

Hey! Shoutout to San Diego. :)

San Diego is really heaven on earth. Today is a bright clear day, 70-80 degrees, not a cloud in sight.

As for TOS, I would definately set my DVR to record it to help its DVR ratings..but i think it could get 3 million viewers weekly, if it had great PR during shows like SURVIVOR and CSI (s)...

How has it done in syndication? I imagine the availability of the Blu-Rays, DVDs, and streaming video of the series would seriously impact ratings, especially since the episodes on television would (a) be edited down since no time slot allows for 50 minute episodes anymore and (b) have commercials.

I think if you aired TOS re-mastered against Voyager/Enterprise on equally watched networks at the same time, TOS would win..thats just my general impression..

Rob

Probably, yeah. But against new, prime time programming? It would get slaughtered.

This.

Sorry, but an old series that is many fans already own and is easily and legally found online has no chance of competing with new primetime network shows.

However, I think TOS-R might be successful on cable or in syndication at a timeslot with lesser competition.

No..i don't think so. 2-5 million, in this enviroment, on a show that requires no production costs would actually be a win.
