Actually, the only one that says that is Brunt (FCA) on Bar Association... and he was right, the situation definitely was... ironic... Long story, you'd better see for yourself.

Watching Nemesis and Tuvok says ruse when he's talking to Chakotay and he looks like the predator

I think it's more the fact that it just isn't a word that get's used in real life very much so it stands out to me as being a bit hammy (like something that only TV people say)

I don't think i've ever heard anyone say ruse in real life

I like when Tom says..."charming fellow"...when they talk to hostile aliens on the viewscreen but i reckon that only happened a couple of times

There aren't that many considering that it's not always the same phrase that is used and that there is a bit of dialogue with each of them. I call that cheating.

There's only a minority that are truly "ironic, isn't it" among a plethora of "The irony is", "this is ironic", "Ironically" and what not?

My point is not about you, but the author of the video, unless it's you. He wanted to make it look like there were more "ironic, isn't it" than there actually were. So he put everything that has the word, "ironic", "irony", "ironical", "ironically" in it, plus quite a bit of surrounding dialogue too boot, at times. I half expected to get a "nine iron" in there!

Actually, the only one that I clearly remembered (in spite of knowing the series inside and out) is when Brunt said it to Quark in Bar Association, because it really was and also because it was kinda funny when he said it.
