How long will new cast last?

This is worse than the time I asked my brother if an MP3 player was like a radio when I meant to ask if it was like a walkman. :o

Same as Larry Niven's TV special as Bond, it was a one-time event that also wasn't remembered until later by trivia buffs.

David Niven's TV special as Bond (easy mistake for a sci-fi guy to make) :D ...and Roger Moore will always be Bond to me because that's the Bond I grew up with. I know he's got a high cheese factor, but still.

Niven was in a Feature Film as Bond. "Casino Royale" in 1967. Barry Nelson played Bond on TV in 1954.

Ideally, this is a one-off flick, leading into a "spin off" series. However, since CBS and PPC aren't on the same page right now, it's damned hard to say that now.

MAX time we can expect to see this particular crew together is three flicks. Now, let's assume that despite the fact that this particular flick is not a "series movie" at all, PPC will nevertheless push a series of sequels. Given that assumption, then... anyone who's SUCCESSFUL will pop out after that and be recast, should they still choose to move ahead.

It's VERY rare for a successful actor to want to be tied to a series for more than three flicks. And it's also very rare to have a 'sequel" film be as good, or better than, the first in the series.

Yes, in the same film Woody Allen and Peter Sellers were Bond, with Orson Welles as Le Chiffre. This film was intended as a conscious parody of the recently begun EON series, so neither David nor Larry Niven predated Sean Connery as 007.

Barry Nelson's turn as 'Jimmy Bond' (the character was Americanised) on TV was also an adaption of Casino Royale, with Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre.

About 8 weeks, they say.

They'd be called back for reshoots. And never quite sure if the 8 scheduled weeks includes the time shooting in Iceland or not.

Amen to that!

I couldn't care less about a "franchise" or a "movie series" right now. I want a good story set in a familiar universe. Anything else is a waste of potential for this film. If it gets played up as "launching a new stage of the franchise" instead of "telling a damned good story" they'll inevitably fail at both. IMHO, of course.

No more than three movies, likely, but let's just worry about the one they're doing right now.

If this movie's successful and leads into a TV spinoff, I imagine it'll take place during the same time but with a different ship and crew.
