How long do you think the Trekbbs will last

Anyway care to explain this "MadBaggins" thing?
It was a show that lasted four seasons, sort of similar to Dawson's Creek but with more cousin sex. The first season was best, it fell apart in season 2, and it was cancelled halfway through season 4 and they had to rush a makeshift finale. Was it real or was it fake? That's for you to decide.

This place will be around as long as there are peaople who want to complain about inane topics, publicly feel sorry for themselves, or simply clown around.

Until about Friday or so.

^ Ditto. :rommie:

Everything has its day and all things must come to an end. And as much as I hate to admit it, I have noticed that the place isn't nearly as "busy" as it used to be. But who knows. Things might explode again with a new generation. We may also see a resurgence of Trek in a couple of years. As long as the place can keep up with new technologies, the BBS may be around for a while if those things comes to pass.

It'll last until 2060 something when the Vulcans land and make First Contact.

At which point we will leave our basements and run through the streets screaming, "We were right!"

We will promptly be accepted into mainstream society and look with disdain at Star Wars fans who believe the most silly things.

I'm just counting down the days until it becomes self aware, then we are all in trouble

I like this.

I hope this place stays for many years to come, and that it will integrate itself with whatever technological development the internet in general will undergo.

Realistically speaking, I can see how it would be a problem to keep it alive if it starts costing too much. Unfortunately it's all about the money. :borg:

I'm betting when T'Bonz retires, her daughter will take up the mantle of admin-hood and continue running the joint. So it will pass from mother to daughter through generations.

Two of my girls like Trek (both have at various points gone to conventions with me) but they are "mundanes."

^ Like the Bene Gesserit? I can see it.

It will last until Shatna starts posting here again!

What? In this very thread? Oh, crap. :guffaw:Been nice knowing you, TrekBBS...

(glad to see ya, Shatna!)

I'm in talks with JJ Abrams right now for the TrekBBS reboot.

I'm thinking Jayson will play Holdfast now, Good Will Riker can be RJDiogenes and in response to nuBSG, auntiehill is the new MadBaggins. If anyone here wants Kate Beckinsale to get a restraining order on you, you can become the new BigFoot. Also contemplating Jack Bauer becoming Kim Bauer instead. :)
