Thread needs Janeway STAT!!

aaaah... that's lovely, absolutely lovely. And fine and nice and stuff too. Dreamy, even.
Why am I hearing the Princess Bride at the moment, teacake?

Is the scene from "Imperfection" that you were talking about the one where they talk about Bloomington, Indiana?

Yes, that's the scene I mentioned before.

This is the scene where I see the J/7 so I should have remembered it.

But I am being very quiet right now so I didn't want to get up and go and grab season seven.

Oh that's truly impressive!!

They did a great job there, yeah, and it helps when people wants to do J/7 vids.

It's amazing. :D

I don't know.. I've never been able to stomach that movie and haven't gotten past the first 15 minutes.
Ah, well, in the words of Emily Litella 'Never mind' I suppose you wouldn't care for 'Hurley Burley' then?

What is it?

Oh and do I get points for knowing and loving Emily Litella and her creator?
Lots of points for knowing the lovely Gilda, I had such a crush on her in high school... anyway Hurlyburly (Sorry for the mispelling) is a film with Kevin Spacy and Sean Penn which is based on a much longer play. It is about low level/low life Hollywood producers and brief look into a few days of their lives. I love fast paced dialogue that has much to mull over beyond the plot of the story itself. Others might describe the film as pseudo-intellectual BS. I haven't seen many views in between. Watch at your own risk, you might enjoy it or find 'Princess Bride' an overwhelmingly engaging narrative in comparison.

Because I'm evil and had the impulse to write... It sucks because I'm tired.

“So captain,” the emergency medical hologram began in his normally too cheerful manner as he took out his medical tricorder and began the standard issue physical examination required when all Starfleet personnel returned from away missions. “Your visit to the 29th century must have been fascinating!”

Kathryn Janeway simply stared at him. “I spent the entire time in a holding cell.” Voyager’s captain didn’t elaborate further indicating she expected the doctor to draw his own conclusions about her run in with temporal investigations. Her sarcasm was meant to deter him from questioning her further, which they seemed to be doing so far as the eager smile and anticipatory gleam in the onyx eyes had faded swifly to be replaced by rapt attention to his tricorder instead.

“Couldn’t have been that boring,” he continued proddingly. “Surely you found some way to pass the time, being trapped in the brig with a Starfleet legend, one Captain James Tiberius Kirk.” The holodoc’s earlier good humor was swiftly being replaced with sarcasm.

Janeway sighed, rolling her eyes in frustration and stopped herself just short of praying for Q to snap his fingers and wish her back to her quarters. Her head fell back against her shoulders and she rubbed her neck wearily. Right now all she wanted was to soak in the tub.

“Are you about finished here? I’m really quite tired.” The beeping and whirring of his tricorder was rapidly getting on her last, good nerve.

“I have no doubt you are, Captain.” His tone indicated he meant more than just the ordeal with temporal investigations. Something had appeared on his tricorder scan.

“What’s that supposed to mean, doctor? I don’t have time for games.”

“Alright, I would have preferred to have given you the news in a more jovial manner, but you’re in a rather unseemly mood today so I guess this will have to do… you’re pregnant.”

“What…? But…”

Anticipating her next question, the holodoc hypothesized. “I imagine in 29th century technology would disarm any form of implants upon entering the holding areas.”

Leaning forward, the captain struggled to digest the news. “How can I balance a child with my responsibilities to this ship?”

“You won’t have to do it alone, Captain. We’ll help you.” The holodoc closed up his tricorder and gently put a hand supportively on Kathryn’s shoulder to which she responded with a wan and tired smile.

“Though next time you go time traveling and get confined in a futuristic brig with another handsome starship captain might I suggest finding another way to exchange information besides the chromosomal level?”

A groan.

“And that’s the good news. Here’s the bad news. You’re gonna have to switch to decaf.”
