How is Janeway sexy?

Oh yah I did..

When I left for lunch I was just stepping out of the hotel when I heard a loud American voice and turning my head saw Garrett Wang hanging out with the smokers about 10 feet away from me. So naturally I casually wandered over and inserted myself into the discussion. There were 5 of us and Garrett. The discussion was UFO's which apparently Garrett believes in, and aliens, and visitations and conspiracies. That ranged on for quite a bit with the other women there seemingly true believers in the topic. After a bunch of that the he talked about how little they get in residuals, and also his dream which is to open a convention center/hotel in Las Vegas that would become a mecca for sci fi conventions.

He was VERY natural, personable, unpretentious and interesting to listen to. He wasn't just holding forth either, he was asking questions and listening to what everyone had to say. He came across as an extremely likable, down to earth guy, so much so that I ended up getting his autograph later in the day when I had originally planned to only get Avery's. (I'll take a pic of this tomorrow as I had him write something VOY specific on it).

EVERYTHING WAS GRAND!

I also bought an actual prop.. in a frame.. it is a piece of the shuttle from ST:XI. The "I might throw up on you" shuttle not the "You will man a shuttle" shuttle. I could not believe I won the auction for it as people were paying ridiculous prices for dribble (I think a pair of comm badge stud earrings went for over 200.00, the ones you can buy on ebay for under 20 bucks). Perhaps the old guard's antipathies towards ST:XI worked in my favor! (There were only about 150 people at the con.)

Oh and Garrett said he saw ST:XI 11 times in the cinema in cities all over the world and it was fun because fans were like.. "omg.. what are you doing here?" and then he sat and watched the movie with them. He loves it. He said he cried when George Kirk dies.

I'm off to bed now, will post another pic or two tomorrow. But before I go.. a question.

WTH IS WRONG WITH THIS HAIR???!

Although I never cared for Kim, everything I hear about Wang makes me like him better.

Oooooh, Mr. Brooks was lookin' handsome, too, I see.

Kodos, I LOVE MaeWest!Janeway. Love.

Glad to see Avery looking well and BAMF-y...and thanks for pics, teacake. Hope more insights later?

I told you he (Wang) was great fun at a con, and that was just my impression from sitting in the audience, not hanging out with him in the smokers section. (Hmmm, is he trying to develop the Mulgrew voice? ;) )

Re: Crying when Kirk dies... I love it when our guys ARE actual Star trek fans themselves. :bolian:

Re: The hair... I have a question for you. :p

What's RIGHT with it???? :wtf:

Jonathon Frakes did a skype interview, he was interesting and funny, enough so that I the avowed loather of Riker would go to a con to hear him talk. Of course I never had anything against Frakes, I'm just all about the characters rather than the actors. Frakes was the original headliner for this con but couldn't make it, apparently a lot of people cancelled their tickets when he cancelled whereas I hadn't bothered to buy one but once he was replaced with Brooks couldn't buy one fast enough.

^
"one voice...many faces"

I've always liked Frakes in interviews. Comes across as very warm and genuinely funny...

I saw that same people today in Sydney, and Garrett was a hoot. His impersonations of Janeway was awesome. With Kate and Tim coming out in a few months, I didn't have plans to see them, but most likely will, as Garrett said Kate is really funny. But his best one was of George Takei.

Am I understanding you correctly? :vulcan:

Garret is doing impressions of me... again?

That naughty boy.

I'm going to have to... talk with him... again.
