Whew! I just finished catching up on the past couple days' posts. This thread moves too fast for me! I love it!
mairbeariepie, glad you and the little princesses are ok! I'm terrified of driving, didn't get my license until I was 29 (which was last year, since I noticed we played a little "age game" while I was away from the thread
). Yesterday I had a doctors appt and my mom drove me. 
I really hate driving.

Yeah, it's on the last disc of Season One. Somewhere. I think there's some kind of recap where the scenes are shown - they appear very quickly.
Apparently, "Caretaker" was one of the most expensive television pilots in history due to the re-filming they did with KM's hair and Bujold's scenes (think it's mentioned in that one VOY book.) Were they concerned about her earrings? I think they were concerned about the piercings showing, because, zomg, starship captains don't have pierced ears.
The excuse I remember hearing about why they didn't like KM's regular hair was that it was too thin or something. No idea how true that is.
I had a kids' magazine that had a sci-fi issue, and I remember they had a promo piece on Voyager that had KM's original hair. They took promo shots with it. I wonder if I still have that thing...
I think this is probably actually the case. I remember hearing Tim Russ say earring (singular, yes, I said earringS before, but I hadn't had a full cup of coffee yet, so please ignore that), but it's likely that he just said that when what he really meant was piercing. I think that's more likely than no one noticing KM was wearing earrings, or indeed, her wearing them to start with.

Thank you, driving can be horrible. I have actually had panic attacks in the car while driving because it freaks me out, but normally on clear days I'm fine and there's no issue for me.
I still have my mom and hubby drive me when they can, it's frightening here in northern California.
