How is Janeway sexy?

Above picture notwithstanding, in most of the Voyager series, Janeway didn't seem sexy or have much sex appeal to me. She seemed too maternal for me to see her like that. But that isn't a bad thing. She was supposed to be a captain, and have a command presence. If they tried to sex up Janeway, it would have ruined her character.

Better start at the beginning of the thread..

Valeris;4752531 That's why I'm enjoying the latest weekly episode on [I said:
Star Trek Online[/I].

I'm still toying with trying that. I seem to have fallen into an extended WoW break. Only thing I'm not keen on, and correct me if I'm wrong, that everyone has a ship. I'm just not a ship/captain person. I would rather have been a ferengi trader.

Yeah, everyone is a captain in the game. I find it fun, but I can see why others might not feel the same.

The look on Janeway's face was priceless when he called her Kathy. I thought she was about to punch him in the face.

The infamous death glare came out for about two maybe three seconds.

To revisit this: then why are the other captains, who have command presence, sexy? What makes Picard, the oldest captain and having plenty of command presence sexy to so many people? No one calls him "paternal" despite his fatherly ways with young Wes. He's sexy without being "sexed up" by the writers. Once again the definition of sexy for women is a lot narrower.

How much pissing around just exploring can you do?

Are you doing preset missions all the time?

Do you have a lot of choices in how you spend your time and in what personality your character has?

Can you travel to places as an individual via beaming or other ships or do you have to be in command of your ship to go anywhere?

Quite a bit, actually. And you get rewards and stuff.

Are you doing preset missions all the time?

You can if you like. Then there's the exploration and the "player-vs-player" fighting.

Do you have a lot of choices in how you spend your time and in what personality your character has?

Could you be more specific?

Can you travel to places as an individual via beaming or other ships or do you have to be in command of your ship to go anywhere?

You don't really have a choice. You're given a ship, and you keep it and travel with it. (Every time you rank up, you get to get a new ship, though).

;) :D

^^ I think that might have been a liability. People may have died upon seeing her gorgeous legs. ;) I would have.

geez I tried to reply to your post a few times Valeris but it keeps telling me my message is too short. So I'll just answer separately. Thanks for all your STO answers!

1. Not into preset missions. Not into PVP unless it's being a PITA troll for my own amusement, lol

2. Choices in how you spend your time, character: In WoW I like to play in a non linear fashion and will often spend inordinate amounts of time trying to acquire something that has no real use (ie, not a weapon) but which fits into my character's storyline. I have a hard time picturing this kind of play dragging a whole starship of people behind me. I'm really a solo player.. all those PEOPLE in the ship stress me out!

3. Getting a new ship each time you rank up is cool.

Is there a trial you can d/l for free? I want to be talked into STO and I followed it a bit when it was pre-release, watching all the previews and trailers etc.. but by the end of all those I was really, sadly, meh.

What do you like about it?

"Instant Combustion Imminent". ;)

No problem! :)

But they're so much fun!

Well, you can "craft" items, which means you can get schematics and different materials and build things like armor, weapons, ship equipment, etc.

You're still a solo player, except when you do PVP, pretty much. There are also "Fleet Actions", where you do things like fight a Crystalline Entity, etc. Your ship is full of NPCs.

3. Getting a new ship each time you rank up is cool.

It really is! I went from a Miranda-class to a Vesper-class to a Stargazer-class to a Celestial-class to a Noble-class to an Emissary-class to my current ship, refitted Galaxy-class U.S.S. Janeway.

Here's a starship tier chart, with all of the possible ships you can get.

Oh yes! You can download the trial here

What do you like about it?

I like the different missions, the fact that I can put together my dream bridge crew/senior staff, the different planets and environments, my lovely Galaxy-class U.S.S. Janeway, the customizable uniform...

You'd think they'd have some sort of shorts, since those pants, to me anyway, would be constraining and hot.

You just want to see her in her underwear.
