It took me 5 episodes to give up on Mercy, but her character was drunk a lot.
I cannot get over how hot she looks with a cigarette.

By the way: Colm Meaney sighting!) and she's all excited that they're back together...and then says "I'm doing a load of darks...you got anything that needs washing?" Cue everyone else in the family walking in on the two of them, exhibiting momentary happiness, then going about their business...in the daughter's bedroom.

Then the two argue a bit about her love life and her husband(ish), and then Kate says, legs askew, wearing black capris with flared cuffs and chunky sandals, "Do you know how much your father and I paid for that wedding?!"

teacake - Mercy is currently nearly the end of it's second run on the 7 network (Ch7Two) in Australia. It's on at midnight (tonight - Tuesday) - and it's about 2/3 way through all the episodes. It also ran about 6 months ago - prime time for 2-3 weeks then midnight again.
Mercy sucked to start with but I thought it had improved a lot in the final 5-6 episodes before it was cancelled....they finally got over the "pretty nurse stuff" and had a few decent storylines starting to happen. However, it was way too late - they had lost 90% of their audience by then and the show was cancelled.

My tv connection thingy in the wall broke two years ago and I never got it fixed so I can't actually watch tv unless I want to watch in in my kid's room on a set he hauled home from the hard rubbish and with everything colored with orange snow (at best).
Of course I'm missing out on all those midnight phone sex ads but I think I'll cope.
