Spoilers How in the Name of Q?

But Q also said to Picard "See you out there." Which did seem to suggest that Q's existence could continue on some level.

It's a Q inside joke only he gets. That's because he knows he is going to the afterlife to pester the real Picard instead of android Picard. He knows android Picard thinks he is real Picard so he wanted to do something nice for him before leaving. He also told his younger self to look after Picards son for him when he leaves.

IMO, Q did indeed die sometime after Season 2.

But then he got better...
Of all people, Jean-Luc should understand about life after death.

The fact Q appeared in better health, although still older like he did after "catching up" with Picard, makes me feel he jumped into the future while he still could to do some stuff with Jack before going back to finish up his dealings with Picard and co.

So from Jack's perspective, Q is dead. But from Q's he's still alive?

Maybe but I think it might be more than that. He already said he was done with Picard so he wouldn't have to go back.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Well, then I stick to my theory that Q de Lancie has different versions of himself a la what we saw in Voy's 'Death Wish'.

Or, it's just a retcon of Season 2. ;)

If only they could have worked out a scene were Picards mentions how his android body created a few false memories such as one with his mom killing herself.

Palpatine's return was at least logically consistent, even if the writing was lazy. Daniels' wasn't. Q's isn't.

Simple: Q was just fucking with Picard for the Nth time in S2. Dead? How does an omnipotent being die? FAIL for Picard on that part of the trial!

Q usually doesn't lie. Though I do think he keeps things from others. Problem with someone like Q is someone with his power never needs to lie because he is always the most powerful person in the room except those times other Q are around.
